1  And the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ spoke¹⁶⁹⁶ unto⁴¹³ Moses⁴⁸⁷² and to⁴¹³ Aaron,¹⁷⁵ saying⁵⁵⁹ unto⁴¹³ them,

2  Speak¹⁶⁹⁶ unto⁴¹³ the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ saying,⁵⁵⁹ These²⁰⁶³ are the beasts²⁴¹⁶ which⁸³⁴ ye shall eat³⁹⁸ among all^{4480 3605} the beasts⁹²⁹ that⁸³⁴ are on⁵⁹²¹ the earth.⁷⁷⁶

3  Whatsoever³⁶⁰⁵ parteth⁶⁵³⁶ the hoof,⁶⁵⁴¹ and is cloven-footed,^{8156 8157 6541} and cheweth⁵⁹²⁷ the cud,¹⁶²⁵ among the beasts,⁹²⁹ that shall ye eat.³⁹⁸

4  Nevertheless^{389 853} these²⁰⁸⁸ shall ye not³⁸⁰⁸ eat³⁹⁸ of them that chew^{4480 5927} the cud,¹⁶²⁵ or of them that divide^{4480 6536} the hoof:⁶⁵⁴¹ as ⁸⁵³ the camel,¹⁵⁸¹ because³⁵⁸⁸ he¹⁹³¹ cheweth⁵⁹²⁷ the cud,¹⁶²⁵ but divideth⁶⁵³⁶ not³⁶⁹ the hoof;⁶⁵⁴¹ he¹⁹³¹ is unclean²⁹³¹ unto you.

5  And the coney,⁸²²⁷ because³⁵⁸⁸ he¹⁹³¹ cheweth⁵⁹²⁷ the cud,¹⁶²⁵ but divideth⁶⁵³⁶ not³⁸⁰⁸ the hoof;⁶⁵⁴¹ he¹⁹³¹ is unclean²⁹³¹ unto you.

6  And the hare,⁷⁶⁸ because³⁵⁸⁸ he¹⁹³¹ cheweth⁵⁹²⁷ the cud,¹⁶²⁵ but divideth⁶⁵³⁶ not³⁸⁰⁸ the hoof;⁶⁵⁴¹ he¹⁹³¹ is unclean²⁹³¹ unto you.

7  And the swine,²³⁸⁶ though³⁵⁸⁸ he¹⁹³¹ divide⁶⁵³⁶ the hoof,⁶⁵⁴¹ and be cloven-footed,^{8156 8157 6541} yet he¹⁹³¹ cheweth¹⁶⁴¹ not³⁸⁰⁸ the cud;¹⁶²⁵ he¹⁹³¹ is unclean²⁹³¹ to you.

8  Of their flesh^{4480 1320} shall ye not³⁸⁰⁸ eat,³⁹⁸ and their carcass⁵⁰³⁸ shall ye not³⁸⁰⁸ touch;⁵⁰⁶⁰ they¹⁹⁹² are unclean²⁹³¹ to you.

9  ⁸⁵³ These²⁰⁸⁸ shall ye eat³⁹⁸ of all^{4480 3605} that⁸³⁴ are in the waters:⁴³²⁵ whatsoever^{3605 834} hath fins⁵⁵⁷⁹ and scales⁷¹⁹³ in the waters,⁴³²⁵ in the seas,³²²⁰ and in the rivers,⁵¹⁵⁸ them shall ye eat.³⁹⁸

10  And all³⁶⁰⁵ that⁸³⁴ have not³⁶⁹ fins⁵⁵⁷⁹ and scales⁷¹⁹³ in the seas,³²²⁰ and in the rivers,⁵¹⁵⁸ of all^{4480 3605} that move⁸³¹⁸ in the waters,⁴³²⁵ and of any^{4480 3605} living²⁴¹⁶ thing⁵³¹⁵ which⁸³⁴ is in the waters,⁴³²⁵ they¹⁹⁹² shall be an abomination⁸²⁶³ unto you:

11  They shall be¹⁹⁶¹ even an abomination⁸²⁶³ unto you; ye shall not³⁸⁰⁸ eat³⁹⁸ of their flesh,^{4480 1320} but ye shall have their carcasses in abomination.^{8262 853 5038}

12  Whatsoever^{3605 834} hath no³⁶⁹ fins⁵⁵⁷⁹ nor scales⁷¹⁹³ in the waters,⁴³²⁵ that¹⁹³¹ shall be an abomination⁸²⁶³ unto you.

13  And these⁴²⁸ are they which ye shall have in abomination⁸²⁶² among⁴⁴⁸⁰ the fowls;⁵⁷⁷⁵ they shall not³⁸⁰⁸ be eaten,³⁹⁸ they¹⁹⁹² are an abomination:^{8263 853} the eagle,⁵⁴⁰⁴ and the ossifrage,⁶⁵³⁸ and the osprey,⁵⁸²²

14  And the vulture,¹⁶⁷⁶ and the kite³⁴⁴ after his kind;⁴³²⁷

15  ⁸⁵³ Every³⁶⁰⁵ raven⁶¹⁵⁸ after his kind;⁴³²⁷

16  And the owl,^{1323 3284} and the night hawk,⁸⁴⁶⁴ and the cuckoo,⁷⁸²⁸ and the hawk⁵³²² after his kind,⁴³²⁷

17  And the little owl,³⁵⁶³ and the cormorant,⁷⁹⁹⁴ and the great owl,³²⁴⁴

18  And the swan,⁸⁵⁸⁰ and the pelican,⁶⁸⁹³ and the gier-eagle,⁷³⁶⁰

19  And the stork,²⁶²⁴ the heron⁶⁰¹ after her kind,⁴³²⁷ and the lapwing,¹⁷⁴⁴ and the bat.⁵⁸⁴⁷

20  All³⁶⁰⁵ fowls⁵⁷⁷⁵ that creep,⁸³¹⁸ going¹⁹⁸⁰ upon⁵⁹²¹ all four,⁷⁰² shall be an abomination⁸²⁶³ unto you.

21  Yet^{389 853} these²⁰⁸⁸ may ye eat³⁹⁸ of every^{4480 3605} flying⁵⁷⁷⁵ creeping thing⁸³¹⁸ that goeth¹⁹⁸⁰ upon⁵⁹²¹ all four,⁷⁰² which⁸³⁴ have legs³⁷⁶⁷ above^{4480 4605} their feet,⁷²⁷² to leap⁵⁴²⁵ withal²⁰⁰⁴ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth;⁷⁷⁶

22  Even ⁸⁵³ these⁴²⁸ of⁴⁴⁸⁰ them ye may eat;^{398 853} the locust⁶⁹⁷ after his kind,⁴³²⁷ and the bald locust⁵⁵⁵⁶ after his kind,⁴³²⁷ and the beetle²⁷²⁸ after his kind,⁴³²⁷ and the grasshopper²²⁸⁴ after his kind.⁴³²⁷

23  But all³⁶⁰⁵ other flying⁵⁷⁷⁵ creeping things,⁸³¹⁸ which⁸³⁴ have four⁷⁰² feet,⁷²⁷² shall be an abomination⁸²⁶³ unto you.

24  And for these⁴²⁸ ye shall be unclean:²⁹³⁰ whosoever³⁶⁰⁵ toucheth⁵⁰⁶⁰ the carcass⁵⁰³⁸ of them shall be unclean²⁹³⁰ until⁵⁷⁰⁴ the even.⁶¹⁵³

25  And whosoever³⁶⁰⁵ beareth⁵³⁷⁵ aught of the carcass^{4480 5038} of them shall wash³⁵²⁶ his clothes,⁸⁹⁹ and be unclean²⁹³⁰ until⁵⁷⁰⁴ the even.⁶¹⁵³

26  The carcasses of every³⁶⁰⁵ beast⁹²⁹ which⁸³⁴ divideth⁶⁵³⁶ the hoof,⁶⁵⁴¹ and is not³⁶⁹ cloven-footed,^{8156 8157} nor³⁶⁹ cheweth⁵⁹²⁷ the cud,¹⁶²⁵ are unclean²⁹³¹ unto you: every one³⁶⁰⁵ that toucheth⁵⁰⁶⁰ them shall be unclean.²⁹³⁰

27  And whatsoever³⁶⁰⁵ goeth¹⁹⁸⁰ upon⁵⁹²¹ his paws,³⁷⁰⁹ among all manner³⁶⁰⁵ of beasts²⁴¹⁶ that go¹⁹⁸⁰ on⁵⁹²¹ all four,⁷⁰² those¹⁹⁹² are unclean²⁹³¹ unto you: whoso³⁶⁰⁵ toucheth⁵⁰⁶⁰ their carcass⁵⁰³⁸ shall be unclean²⁹³⁰ until⁵⁷⁰⁴ the even.⁶¹⁵³

28  And he that beareth^{5375 853} the carcass⁵⁰³⁸ of them shall wash³⁵²⁶ his clothes,⁸⁹⁹ and be unclean²⁹³⁰ until⁵⁷⁰⁴ the even:⁶¹⁵³ they¹⁹⁹² are unclean²⁹³¹ unto you.

29  These²⁰⁸⁸ also shall be unclean²⁹³¹ unto you among the creeping things⁸³¹⁸ that creep⁸³¹⁷ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth;⁷⁷⁶ the weasel,²⁴⁶⁷ and the mouse,⁵⁹⁰⁹ and the tortoise⁶⁶³² after his kind,⁴³²⁷

30  And the ferret,⁶⁰⁴ and the chameleon,³⁵⁸¹ and the lizard,³⁹¹¹ and the snail,²⁵⁴⁶ and the mole.⁸⁵⁸⁰

31  These⁴²⁸ are unclean²⁹³¹ to you among all³⁶⁰⁵ that creep:⁸³¹⁸ whosoever³⁶⁰⁵ doth touch⁵⁰⁶⁰ them, when they be dead,⁴¹⁹⁴ shall be unclean²⁹³⁰ until⁵⁷⁰⁴ the even.⁶¹⁵³

32  And upon⁵⁹²¹ whatsoever^{3605 834} any of⁴⁴⁸⁰ them, when they are dead,⁴¹⁹⁴ doth fall,⁵³⁰⁷ it shall be unclean;²⁹³⁰ whether it be any^{4480 3605} vessel³⁶²⁷ of wood,⁶⁰⁸⁶ or¹⁷⁶ raiment,⁸⁹⁹ or¹⁷⁶ skin,⁵⁷⁸⁵ or¹⁷⁶ sack,⁸²⁴² whatsoever³⁶⁰⁵ vessel³⁶²⁷ it be, wherein⁸³⁴ any work⁴³⁹⁹ is done,⁶²¹³ it must be put⁹³⁵ into water,⁴³²⁵ and it shall be unclean²⁹³⁰ until⁵⁷⁰⁴ the even;⁶¹⁵³ so it shall be cleansed.²⁸⁹¹

33  And every³⁶⁰⁵ earthen²⁷⁸⁹ vessel,³⁶²⁷ whereinto^{834 413 8432} any of⁴⁴⁸⁰ them falleth,⁵³⁰⁷ whatsoever^{3605 834} is in⁸⁴³² it shall be unclean;²⁹³⁰ and ye shall break⁷⁶⁶⁵ it.

34  Of all^{4480 3605} meat⁴⁰⁰ which⁸³⁴ may be eaten,³⁹⁸ that on⁵⁹²¹ which⁸³⁴ such water⁴³²⁵ cometh⁹³⁵ shall be unclean:²⁹³⁰ and all³⁶⁰⁵ drink⁴⁹⁴⁵ that⁸³⁴ may be drunk⁸³⁵⁴ in every³⁶⁰⁵ such vessel³⁶²⁷ shall be unclean.²⁹³⁰

35  And every³⁶⁰⁵ thing whereupon^{834 5921} any part of their carcass^{4480 5038} falleth⁵³⁰⁷ shall be unclean;²⁹³⁰ whether it be oven,⁸⁵⁷⁴ or ranges for pots,³⁶⁰⁰ they shall be broken down:⁵⁴²² for they¹⁹⁹² are unclean,²⁹³¹ and shall be¹⁹⁶¹ unclean²⁹³¹ unto you.

36  Nevertheless³⁸⁹ a fountain⁴⁵⁹⁹ or pit,⁹⁵³ wherein there is plenty⁴⁷²³ of water,⁴³²⁵ shall be¹⁹⁶¹ clean:²⁸⁸⁹ but that which toucheth⁵⁰⁶⁰ their carcass⁵⁰³⁸ shall be unclean.²⁹³⁰

37  And if³⁵⁸⁸ any part of⁴⁴⁸⁰ their carcass⁵⁰³⁸ fall⁵³⁰⁷ upon⁵⁹²¹ any³⁶⁰⁵ sowing²²²¹ seed²²³³ which⁸³⁴ is to be sown,²²³² it¹⁹³¹ shall be clean.²⁸⁸⁹

38  But if³⁵⁸⁸ any water⁴³²⁵ be put⁵⁴¹⁴ upon⁵⁹²¹ the seed,²²³³ and any part of their carcass^{4480 5038} fall⁵³⁰⁷ thereon,⁵⁹²¹ it¹⁹³¹ shall be unclean²⁹³¹ unto you.

39  And if³⁵⁸⁸ any beast,⁹²⁹ of⁴⁴⁸⁰ which⁸³⁴ ye may eat,⁴⁰² die;⁴¹⁹¹ he that toucheth⁵⁰⁶⁰ the carcass⁵⁰³⁸ thereof shall be unclean²⁹³⁰ until⁵⁷⁰⁴ the even.⁶¹⁵³

40  And he that eateth³⁹⁸ of the carcass^{4480 5038} of it shall wash³⁵²⁶ his clothes,⁸⁹⁹ and be unclean²⁹³⁰ until⁵⁷⁰⁴ the even:⁶¹⁵³ he also that beareth^{5375 853} the carcass⁵⁰³⁸ of it shall wash³⁵²⁶ his clothes,⁸⁹⁹ and be unclean²⁹³⁰ until⁵⁷⁰⁴ the even.⁶¹⁵³

41  And every³⁶⁰⁵ creeping thing⁸³¹⁸ that creepeth⁸³¹⁷ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth⁷⁷⁶ shall be an abomination;⁸²⁶³ it shall not³⁸⁰⁸ be eaten.³⁹⁸

42  Whatsoever³⁶⁰⁵ goeth¹⁹⁸⁰ upon⁵⁹²¹ the belly,¹⁵¹² and whatsoever³⁶⁰⁵ goeth¹⁹⁸⁰ upon⁵⁹²¹ all four,⁷⁰² or whatsoever³⁶⁰⁵ hath more⁷²³⁵ feet⁷²⁷² among all³⁶⁰⁵ creeping things⁸³¹⁸ that creep⁸³¹⁷ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth,⁷⁷⁶ them ye shall not³⁸⁰⁸ eat;³⁹⁸ for³⁵⁸⁸ they¹⁹⁹² are an abomination.⁸²⁶³

43  Ye shall not⁴⁰⁸ make yourselves abominable^{8262 853 5315} with any³⁶⁰⁵ creeping thing⁸³¹⁸ that creepeth,⁸³¹⁷ neither³⁸⁰⁸ shall ye make yourselves unclean²⁹³⁰ with them, that ye should be defiled²⁹³⁰ thereby.

44  For³⁵⁸⁸ I⁵⁸⁹ am the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ your God:⁴³⁰ ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves,⁶⁹⁴² and ye shall be¹⁹⁶¹ holy;⁶⁹¹⁸ for³⁵⁸⁸ I⁵⁸⁹ am holy:⁶⁹¹⁸ neither³⁸⁰⁸ shall ye defile^{2930 853} yourselves⁵³¹⁵ with any manner³⁶⁰⁵ of creeping thing⁸³¹⁸ that creepeth⁷⁴³⁰ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth.⁷⁷⁶

45  For³⁵⁸⁸ I⁵⁸⁹ am the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ that bringeth you up^{5927 853} out of the land^{4480 776} of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ to be¹⁹⁶¹ your God:⁴³⁰ ye shall therefore be¹⁹⁶¹ holy,⁶⁹¹⁸ for³⁵⁸⁸ I⁵⁸⁹ am holy.⁶⁹¹⁸

46  This²⁰⁶³ is the law⁸⁴⁵¹ of the beasts,⁹²⁹ and of the fowl,⁵⁷⁷⁵ and of every³⁶⁰⁵ living²⁴¹⁶ creature⁵³¹⁵ that moveth⁷⁴³⁰ in the waters,⁴³²⁵ and of every³⁶⁰⁵ creature⁵³¹⁵ that creepeth⁸³¹⁷ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth:⁷⁷⁶

47  To make a difference⁹¹⁴ between⁹⁹⁶ the unclean²⁹³¹ and the clean,²⁸⁸⁹ and between⁹⁹⁶ the beast²⁴¹⁶ that may be eaten³⁹⁸ and the beast²⁴¹⁶ that⁸³⁴ may not³⁸⁰⁸ be eaten.³⁹⁸

1 καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν καὶ Ααρων λέγων

2 λαλήσατε τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ λέγοντες ταῦτα τὰ κτήνη ἃ φάγεσθε ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν κτηνῶν τῶν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς

3 πᾶν κτῆνος διχηλοῦν ὁπλὴν καὶ ὀνυχιστῆρας ὀνυχίζον δύο χηλῶν καὶ ἀνάγον μηρυκισμὸν ἐν τοῖς κτήνεσιν ταῦτα φάγεσθε

4 πλὴν ἀπὸ τούτων οὐ φάγεσθε ἀπὸ τῶν ἀναγόντων μηρυκισμὸν καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν διχηλούντων τὰς ὁπλὰς καὶ ὀνυχιζόντων ὀνυχιστῆρας τὸν κάμηλον ὅτι ἀνάγει μηρυκισμὸν τοῦτο ὁπλὴν δὲ οὐ διχηλεῖ ἀκάθαρτον τοῦτο ὑμῖν

5 καὶ τὸν δασύποδα ὅτι ἀνάγει μηρυκισμὸν τοῦτο καὶ ὁπλὴν οὐ διχηλεῖ ἀκάθαρτον τοῦτο ὑμῖν

6 καὶ τὸν χοιρογρύλλιον ὅτι ἀνάγει μηρυκισμὸν τοῦτο καὶ ὁπλὴν οὐ διχηλεῖ ἀκάθαρτον τοῦτο ὑμῖν

7 καὶ τὸν ὗν ὅτι διχηλεῖ ὁπλὴν τοῦτο καὶ ὀνυχίζει ὄνυχας ὁπλῆς καὶ τοῦτο οὐκ ἀνάγει μηρυκισμόν ἀκάθαρτον τοῦτο ὑμῖν

8 ἀπὸ τῶν κρεῶν αὐτῶν οὐ φάγεσθε καὶ τῶν θνησιμαίων αὐτῶν οὐχ ἅψεσθε ἀκάθαρτα ταῦτα ὑμῖν

9 καὶ ταῦτα ἃ φάγεσθε ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἐν τοῖς ὕδασιν πάντα ὅσα ἐστὶν αὐτοῖς πτερύγια καὶ λεπίδες ἐν τοῖς ὕδασιν καὶ ἐν ταῖς θαλάσσαις καὶ ἐν τοῖς χειμάρροις ταῦτα φάγεσθε

10 καὶ πάντα ὅσα οὐκ ἔστιν αὐτοῖς πτερύγια οὐδὲ λεπίδες ἐν τῷ ὕδατι ἢ ἐν ταῖς θαλάσσαις καὶ ἐν τοῖς χειμάρροις ἀπὸ πάντων ὧν ἐρεύγεται τὰ ὕδατα καὶ ἀπὸ πάσης ψυχῆς ζώσης τῆς ἐν τῷ ὕδατι βδέλυγμά ἐστιν

11 καὶ βδελύγματα ἔσονται ὑμῖν ἀπὸ τῶν κρεῶν αὐτῶν οὐκ ἔδεσθε καὶ τὰ θνησιμαῖα αὐτῶν βδελύξεσθε

12 καὶ πάντα ὅσα οὐκ ἔστιν αὐτοῖς πτερύγια καὶ λεπίδες τῶν ἐν τῷ ὕδατι βδέλυγμα τοῦτό ἐστιν ὑμῖν

13 καὶ ταῦτα βδελύξεσθε ἀπὸ τῶν πετεινῶν καὶ οὐ βρωθήσεται βδέλυγμά ἐστιν τὸν ἀετὸν καὶ τὸν γρύπα καὶ τὸν ἁλιαίετον

14 καὶ τὸν γύπα καὶ ἰκτῖνα καὶ τὰ ὅμοια αὐτῷ

15 καὶ κόρακα καὶ τὰ ὅμοια αὐτῷ

16 καὶ στρουθὸν καὶ γλαῦκα καὶ λάρον καὶ τὰ ὅμοια αὐτῷ καὶ ἱέρακα καὶ τὰ ὅμοια αὐτῷ

17 καὶ νυκτικόρακα καὶ καταρράκτην καὶ ἶβιν

18 καὶ πορφυρίωνα καὶ πελεκᾶνα καὶ κύκνον

19 καὶ γλαῦκα καὶ ἐρωδιὸν καὶ χαραδριὸν καὶ τὰ ὅμοια αὐτῷ καὶ ἔποπα καὶ νυκτερίδα

20 καὶ πάντα τὰ ἑρπετὰ τῶν πετεινῶν ἃ πορεύεται ἐπὶ τέσσαρα βδελύγματά ἐστιν ὑμῖν

21 ἀλλὰ ταῦτα φάγεσθε ἀπὸ τῶν ἑρπετῶν τῶν πετεινῶν ἃ πορεύεται ἐπὶ τέσσαρα ἃ ἔχει σκέλη ἀνώτερον τῶν ποδῶν αὐτοῦ πηδᾶν ἐν αὐτοῖς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς

22 καὶ ταῦτα φάγεσθε ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν τὸν βροῦχον καὶ τὰ ὅμοια αὐτῷ καὶ τὸν ἀττάκην καὶ τὰ ὅμοια αὐτῷ καὶ τὴν ἀκρίδα καὶ τὰ ὅμοια αὐτῇ καὶ τὸν ὀφιομάχην καὶ τὰ ὅμοια αὐτῷ

23 πᾶν ἑρπετὸν ἀπὸ τῶν πετεινῶν οἷς ἐστιν τέσσαρες πόδες βδέλυγμά ἐστιν ὑμῖν

24 καὶ ἐν τούτοις μιανθήσεσθε πᾶς ὁ ἁπτόμενος τῶν θνησιμαίων αὐτῶν ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας

25 καὶ πᾶς ὁ αἴρων τῶν θνησιμαίων αὐτῶν πλυνεῖ τὰ ἱμάτια καὶ ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας

26 ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς κτήνεσιν ὅ ἐστιν διχηλοῦν ὁπλὴν καὶ ὀνυχιστῆρας ὀνυχίζει καὶ μηρυκισμὸν οὐ μαρυκᾶται ἀκάθαρτα ἔσονται ὑμῖν πᾶς ὁ ἁπτόμενος τῶν θνησιμαίων αὐτῶν ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας

27 καὶ πᾶς ὃς πορεύεται ἐπὶ χειρῶν ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς θηρίοις ἃ πορεύεται ἐπὶ τέσσαρα ἀκάθαρτα ἔσται ὑμῖν πᾶς ὁ ἁπτόμενος τῶν θνησιμαίων αὐτῶν ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας

28 καὶ ὁ αἴρων τῶν θνησιμαίων αὐτῶν πλυνεῖ τὰ ἱμάτια καὶ ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας ἀκάθαρτα ταῦτα ὑμῖν ἐστιν

29 καὶ ταῦτα ὑμῖν ἀκάθαρτα ἀπὸ τῶν ἑρπετῶν τῶν ἑρπόντων ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἡ γαλῆ καὶ ὁ μῦς καὶ ὁ κροκόδειλος ὁ χερσαῖος

30 μυγαλῆ καὶ χαμαιλέων καὶ καλαβώτης καὶ σαύρα καὶ ἀσπάλαξ

31 ταῦτα ἀκάθαρτα ὑμῖν ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἑρπετῶν τῶν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς πᾶς ὁ ἁπτόμενος αὐτῶν τεθνηκότων ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας

32 καὶ πᾶν ἐφ᾽ ὃ ἂν ἐπιπέσῃ ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν τεθνηκότων αὐτῶν ἀκάθαρτον ἔσται ἀπὸ παντὸς σκεύους ξυλίνου ἢ ἱματίου ἢ δέρματος ἢ σάκκου πᾶν σκεῦος ὃ ἐὰν ποιηθῇ ἔργον ἐν αὐτῷ εἰς ὕδωρ βαφήσεται καὶ ἀκάθαρτον ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας καὶ καθαρὸν ἔσται

33 καὶ πᾶν σκεῦος ὀστράκινον εἰς ὃ ἐὰν πέσῃ ἀπὸ τούτων ἔνδον ὅσα ἐὰν ἔνδον ᾖ ἀκάθαρτα ἔσται καὶ αὐτὸ συντριβήσεται

34 καὶ πᾶν βρῶμα ὃ ἔσθεται εἰς ὃ ἐὰν ἐπέλθῃ ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸ ὕδωρ ἀκάθαρτον ἔσται καὶ πᾶν ποτόν ὃ πίνεται ἐν παντὶ ἀγγείῳ ἀκάθαρτον ἔσται

35 καὶ πᾶν ὃ ἐὰν πέσῃ ἀπὸ τῶν θνησιμαίων αὐτῶν ἐπ᾽ αὐτό ἀκάθαρτον ἔσται κλίβανοι καὶ κυθρόποδες καθαιρεθήσονται ἀκάθαρτα ταῦτά ἐστιν καὶ ἀκάθαρτα ταῦτα ὑμῖν ἔσονται

36 πλὴν πηγῶν ὑδάτων καὶ λάκκου καὶ συναγωγῆς ὕδατος ἔσται καθαρόν ὁ δὲ ἁπτόμενος τῶν θνησιμαίων αὐτῶν ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται

37 ἐὰν δὲ ἐπιπέσῃ τῶν θνησιμαίων αὐτῶν ἐπὶ πᾶν σπέρμα σπόριμον ὃ σπαρήσεται καθαρὸν ἔσται

38 ἐὰν δὲ ἐπιχυθῇ ὕδωρ ἐπὶ πᾶν σπέρμα καὶ ἐπιπέσῃ τῶν θνησιμαίων αὐτῶν ἐπ᾽ αὐτό ἀκάθαρτόν ἐστιν ὑμῖν

39 ἐὰν δὲ ἀποθάνῃ τῶν κτηνῶν ὅ ἐστιν ὑμῖν τοῦτο φαγεῖν ὁ ἁπτόμενος τῶν θνησιμαίων αὐτῶν ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας

40 καὶ ὁ ἐσθίων ἀπὸ τῶν θνησιμαίων τούτων πλυνεῖ τὰ ἱμάτια καὶ ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας καὶ ὁ αἴρων ἀπὸ θνησιμαίων αὐτῶν πλυνεῖ τὰ ἱμάτια καὶ λούσεται ὕδατι καὶ ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας

41 καὶ πᾶν ἑρπετόν ὃ ἕρπει ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς βδέλυγμα τοῦτο ἔσται ὑμῖν οὐ βρωθήσεται

42 καὶ πᾶς ὁ πορευόμενος ἐπὶ κοιλίας καὶ πᾶς ὁ πορευόμενος ἐπὶ τέσσαρα διὰ παντός ὃ πολυπληθεῖ ποσὶν ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἑρπετοῖς τοῖς ἕρπουσιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς οὐ φάγεσθε αὐτό ὅτι βδέλυγμα ὑμῖν ἐστιν

43 καὶ οὐ μὴ βδελύξητε τὰς ψυχὰς ὑμῶν ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς ἑρπετοῖς τοῖς ἕρπουσιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ οὐ μιανθήσεσθε ἐν τούτοις καὶ οὐκ ἀκάθαρτοι ἔσεσθε ἐν αὐτοῖς

44 ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν καὶ ἁγιασθήσεσθε καὶ ἅγιοι ἔσεσθε ὅτι ἅγιός εἰμι ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν καὶ οὐ μιανεῖτε τὰς ψυχὰς ὑμῶν ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἑρπετοῖς τοῖς κινουμένοις ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς

45 ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ὁ ἀναγαγὼν ὑμᾶς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου εἶναι ὑμῶν θεός καὶ ἔσεσθε ἅγιοι ὅτι ἅγιός εἰμι ἐγὼ κύριος

46 οὗτος ὁ νόμος περὶ τῶν κτηνῶν καὶ τῶν πετεινῶν καὶ πάσης ψυχῆς τῆς κινουμένης ἐν τῷ ὕδατι καὶ πάσης ψυχῆς ἑρπούσης ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς

47 διαστεῖλαι ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ἀκαθάρτων καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν καθαρῶν καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ζωογονούντων τὰ ἐσθιόμενα καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ζωογονούντων τὰ μὴ ἐσθιόμενα

‎1 ‏וַיְדַבֵּ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה וְאֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֖ן לֵאמֹ֥ר אֲלֵהֶֽם׃

‎2 ‏דַּבְּר֛וּ אֶל־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר זֹ֤את הַֽחַיָּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תֹּאכְל֔וּ מִכָּל־הַבְּהֵמָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃

‎3 ‏כֹּ֣ל׀ מַפְרֶ֣סֶת פַּרְסָ֗ה וְשֹׁסַ֤עַת שֶׁ֙סַע֙ פְּרָסֹ֔ת מַעֲלַ֥ת גֵּרָ֖ה בַּבְּהֵמָ֑ה אֹתָ֖הּ תֹּאכֵֽלוּ׃

‎4 ‏אַ֤ךְ אֶת־זֶה֙ לֹ֣א תֹֽאכְל֔וּ מִֽמַּעֲלֵי֙ הַגֵּרָ֔ה וּמִמַּפְרִיסֵ֖י הַפַּרְסָ֑ה אֶֽת־הַ֠גָּמָל כִּֽי־מַעֲלֵ֨ה גֵרָ֜ה ה֗וּא וּפַרְסָה֙ אֵינֶ֣נּוּ מַפְרִ֔יס טָמֵ֥א ה֖וּא לָכֶֽם׃

‎5 ‏וְאֶת־הַשָּׁפָ֗ן כִּֽי־מַעֲלֵ֤ה גֵרָה֙ ה֔וּא וּפַרְסָ֖ה לֹ֣א יַפְרִ֑יס טָמֵ֥א ה֖וּא לָכֶֽם׃

‎6 ‏וְאֶת־הָאַרְנֶ֗בֶת כִּֽי־מַעֲלַ֤ת גֵּרָה֙ הִ֔וא וּפַרְסָ֖ה לֹ֣א הִפְרִ֑יסָה טְמֵאָ֥ה הִ֖וא לָכֶֽם׃

‎7 ‏וְאֶת־הַ֠חֲזִיר כִּֽי־מַפְרִ֨יס פַּרְסָ֜ה ה֗וּא וְשֹׁסַ֥ע שֶׁ֙סַע֙ פַּרְסָ֔ה וְה֖וּא גֵּרָ֣ה לֹֽא־יִגָּ֑ר טָמֵ֥א ה֖וּא לָכֶֽם׃

‎8 ‏מִבְּשָׂרָם֙ לֹ֣א תֹאכֵ֔לוּ וּבְנִבְלָתָ֖ם לֹ֣א תִגָּ֑עוּ טְמֵאִ֥ים הֵ֖ם לָכֶֽם׃

‎9 ‏אֶת־זֶה֙ תֹּֽאכְל֔וּ מִכֹּ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּמָּ֑יִם כֹּ֣ל אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ֩ סְנַפִּ֨יר וְקַשְׂקֶ֜שֶׂת בַּמַּ֗יִם בַּיַּמִּ֛ים וּבַנְּחָלִ֖ים אֹתָ֥ם תֹּאכֵֽלוּ׃

‎10 ‏וְכֹל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר אֵֽין־ל֜וֹ סְנַפִּ֣יר וְקַשְׂקֶ֗שֶׂת בַּיַּמִּים֙ וּבַנְּחָלִ֔ים מִכֹּל֙ שֶׁ֣רֶץ הַמַּ֔יִם וּמִכֹּ֛ל נֶ֥פֶשׁ הַחַיָּ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּמָּ֑יִם שֶׁ֥קֶץ הֵ֖ם לָכֶֽם׃

‎11 ‏וְשֶׁ֖קֶץ יִהְי֣וּ לָכֶ֑ם מִבְּשָׂרָם֙ לֹ֣א תֹאכֵ֔לוּ וְאֶת־נִבְלָתָ֖ם תְּשַׁקֵּֽצוּ׃

‎12 ‏כֹּ֣ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֵֽין־ל֛וֹ סְנַפִּ֥יר וְקַשְׂקֶ֖שֶׂת בַּמָּ֑יִם שֶׁ֥קֶץ ה֖וּא לָכֶֽם׃

‎13 ‏וְאֶת־אֵ֙לֶּה֙ תְּשַׁקְּצ֣וּ מִן־הָע֔וֹף לֹ֥א יֵאָכְל֖וּ שֶׁ֣קֶץ הֵ֑ם אֶת־הַנֶּ֙שֶׁר֙ וְאֶת־הַפֶּ֔רֶס וְאֵ֖ת הָעָזְנִיָּֽה׃

‎14 ‏וְאֶת־הַ֨דָּאָ֔ה וְאֶת־הָאַיָּ֖ה לְמִינָֽהּ׃

‎15 ‏אֵ֥ת כָּל־עֹרֵ֖ב לְמִינֽוֹ׃

‎16 ‏וְאֵת֙ בַּ֣ת הַֽיַּעֲנָ֔ה וְאֶת־הַתַּחְמָ֖ס וְאֶת־הַשָּׁ֑חַף וְאֶת־הַנֵּ֖ץ לְמִינֵֽהוּ׃

‎17 ‏וְאֶת־הַכּ֥וֹס וְאֶת־הַשָּׁלָ֖ךְ וְאֶת־הַיַּנְשֽׁוּף׃

‎18 ‏וְאֶת־הַתִּנְשֶׁ֥מֶת וְאֶת־הַקָּאָ֖ת וְאֶת־הָרָחָֽם׃

‎19 ‏וְאֵת֙ הַחֲסִידָ֔ה הָאֲנָפָ֖ה לְמִינָ֑הּ וְאֶת־הַדּוּכִיפַ֖ת וְאֶת־הָעֲטַלֵּֽף׃

‎20 ‏כֹּ֚ל שֶׁ֣רֶץ הָע֔וֹף הַהֹלֵ֖ךְ עַל־אַרְבַּ֑ע שֶׁ֥קֶץ ה֖וּא לָכֶֽם׃ ס

‎21 ‏אַ֤ךְ אֶת־זֶה֙ תֹּֽאכְל֔וּ מִכֹּל֙ שֶׁ֣רֶץ הָע֔וֹף הַהֹלֵ֖ךְ עַל־אַרְבַּ֑ע אֲשֶׁר־לא ל֤וֹ כְרָעַ֙יִם֙ מִמַּ֣עַל לְרַגְלָ֔יו לְנַתֵּ֥ר בָּהֵ֖ן עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃

‎22 ‏אֶת־אֵ֤לֶּה מֵהֶם֙ תֹּאכֵ֔לוּ אֶת־הָֽאַרְבֶּ֣ה³ לְמִינ֔וֹ וְאֶת־הַסָּלְעָ֖ם לְמִינֵ֑הוּ וְאֶת־הַחַרְגֹּ֣ל לְמִינֵ֔הוּ וְאֶת־הֶחָגָ֖ב לְמִינֵֽהוּ׃

‎23 ‏וְכֹל֙ שֶׁ֣רֶץ הָע֔וֹף אֲשֶׁר־ל֖וֹ אַרְבַּ֣ע רַגְלָ֑יִם שֶׁ֥קֶץ ה֖וּא לָכֶֽם׃

‎24 ‏וּלְאֵ֖לֶּה תִּטַּמָּ֑אוּ כָּל־הַנֹּגֵ֥עַ בְּנִבְלָתָ֖ם יִטְמָ֥א עַד־הָעָֽרֶב׃

‎25 ‏וְכָל־הַנֹּשֵׂ֖א מִנִּבְלָתָ֑ם יְכַבֵּ֥ס בְּגָדָ֖יו וְטָמֵ֥א עַד־הָעָֽרֶב׃

‎26 ‏לְֽכָל־הַבְּהֵמָ֡ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִוא֩ מַפְרֶ֨סֶת פַּרְסָ֜ה וְשֶׁ֣סַע׀ אֵינֶ֣נָּה שֹׁסַ֗עַת וְגֵרָה֙ אֵינֶ֣נָּה מַעֲלָ֔ה טְמֵאִ֥ים הֵ֖ם לָכֶ֑ם כָּל־הַנֹּגֵ֥עַ בָּהֶ֖ם יִטְמָֽא׃

‎27 ‏וְכֹ֣ל׀ הוֹלֵ֣ךְ עַל־כַּפָּ֗יו בְּכָל־הַֽחַיָּה֙ הַהֹלֶ֣כֶת עַל־אַרְבַּ֔ע טְמֵאִ֥ים הֵ֖ם לָכֶ֑ם כָּל־הַנֹּגֵ֥עַ בְּנִבְלָתָ֖ם יִטְמָ֥א עַד־הָעָֽרֶב׃

‎28 ‏וְהַנֹּשֵׂא֙ אֶת־נִבְלָתָ֔ם יְכַבֵּ֥ס בְּגָדָ֖יו וְטָמֵ֣א עַד־הָעָ֑רֶב טְמֵאִ֥ים הֵ֖מָּה לָכֶֽם׃ ס

‎29 ‏וְזֶ֤ה לָכֶם֙ הַטָּמֵ֔א בַּשֶּׁ֖רֶץ הַשֹּׁרֵ֣ץ עַל־הָאָ֑רֶץ הַחֹ֥לֶד וְהָעַכְבָּ֖ר וְהַצָּ֥ב לְמִינֵֽהוּ׃

‎30 ‏וְהָאֲנָקָ֥ה וְהַכֹּ֖חַ וְהַלְּטָאָ֑ה וְהַחֹ֖מֶט וְהַתִּנְשָֽׁמֶת׃

‎31 ‏אֵ֛לֶּה הַטְּמֵאִ֥ים לָכֶ֖ם בְּכָל־הַשָּׁ֑רֶץ כָּל־הַנֹּגֵ֧עַ בָּהֶ֛ם בְּמֹתָ֖ם יִטְמָ֥א עַד־הָעָֽרֶב׃

‎32 ‏וְכֹ֣ל אֲשֶׁר־יִפֹּל־עָלָיו֩ מֵהֶ֨ם׀ בְּמֹתָ֜ם יִטְמָ֗א מִכָּל־כְּלִי־עֵץ֙ א֣וֹ בֶ֤גֶד אוֹ־עוֹר֙ א֣וֹ שָׂ֔ק כָּל־כְּלִ֕י אֲשֶׁר־יֵעָשֶׂ֥ה מְלָאכָ֖ה בָּהֶ֑ם בַּמַּ֧יִם יוּבָ֛א וְטָמֵ֥א עַד־הָעֶ֖רֶב וְטָהֵֽר׃

‎33 ‏וְכָל־כְּלִי־חֶ֔רֶשׂ אֲשֶׁר־יִפֹּ֥ל מֵהֶ֖ם אֶל־תּוֹכ֑וֹ כֹּ֣ל אֲשֶׁ֧ר בְּתוֹכ֛וֹ יִטְמָ֖א וְאֹת֥וֹ תִשְׁבֹּֽרוּ׃

‎34 ‏מִכָּל־הָאֹ֜כֶל אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵאָכֵ֗ל אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָב֥וֹא עָלָ֛יו מַ֖יִם יִטְמָ֑א וְכָל־מַשְׁקֶה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִשָּׁתֶ֔ה בְּכָל־כְּלִ֖י יִטְמָֽא׃

‎35 ‏וְ֠כֹל אֲשֶׁר־יִפֹּ֨ל מִנִּבְלָתָ֥ם׀ עָלָיו֮ יִטְמָא֒ תַּנּ֧וּר וְכִירַ֛יִם יֻתָּ֖ץ טְמֵאִ֣ים הֵ֑ם וּטְמֵאִ֖ים יִהְי֥וּ לָכֶֽם׃

‎36 ‏אַ֣ךְ מַעְיָ֥ן וּב֛וֹר מִקְוֵה־מַ֖יִם יִהְיֶ֣ה טָה֑וֹר וְנֹגֵ֥עַ בְּנִבְלָתָ֖ם יִטְמָֽא׃

‎37 ‏וְכִ֤י יִפֹּל֙ מִנִּבְלָתָ֔ם עַל־כָּל־זֶ֥רַע זֵר֖וּעַ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִזָּרֵ֑עַ טָה֖וֹר הֽוּא׃

‎38 ‏וְכִ֤י יֻתַּן־מַ֙יִם֙ עַל־זֶ֔רַע וְנָפַ֥ל מִנִּבְלָתָ֖ם עָלָ֑יו טָמֵ֥א ה֖וּא לָכֶֽם׃ ס

‎39 ‏וְכִ֤י יָמוּת֙ מִן־הַבְּהֵמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־הִ֥יא לָכֶ֖ם לְאָכְלָ֑ה הַנֹּגֵ֥עַ בְּנִבְלָתָ֖הּ יִטְמָ֥א עַד־הָעָֽרֶב׃

‎40 ‏וְהָֽאֹכֵל֙ מִנִּבְלָתָ֔הּ יְכַבֵּ֥ס בְּגָדָ֖יו וְטָמֵ֣א עַד־הָעָ֑רֶב וְהַנֹּשֵׂא֙ אֶת־נִבְלָתָ֔הּ יְכַבֵּ֥ס בְּגָדָ֖יו וְטָמֵ֥א עַד־הָעָֽרֶב׃

‎41 ‏וְכָל־הַשֶּׁ֖רֶץ הַשֹּׁרֵ֣ץ עַל־הָאָ֑רֶץ שֶׁ֥קֶץ ה֖וּא לֹ֥א יֵאָכֵֽל׃

‎42 ‏כֹּל֩ הוֹלֵ֨ךְ עַל־גָּח֜וֹ⁵ן וְכֹ֣ל׀ הוֹלֵ֣ךְ עַל־אַרְבַּ֗ע עַ֚ד כָּל־מַרְבֵּ֣ה רַגְלַ֔יִם לְכָל־הַשֶּׁ֖רֶץ הַשֹּׁרֵ֣ץ עַל־הָאָ֑רֶץ לֹ֥א תֹאכְל֖וּם כִּי־שֶׁ֥קֶץ הֵֽם׃

‎43 ‏אַל־תְּשַׁקְּצוּ֙ אֶת־נַפְשֹׁ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם בְּכָל־הַשֶּׁ֖רֶץ הַשֹּׁרֵ֑ץ וְלֹ֤א תִֽטַּמְּאוּ֙ בָּהֶ֔ם וְנִטְמֵתֶ֖ם בָּֽם׃

‎44 ‏כִּ֣י אֲנִ֣י יְהוָה֮ אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם֒ וְהִתְקַדִּשְׁתֶּם֙ וִהְיִיתֶ֣ם קְדֹשִׁ֔ים כִּ֥י קָד֖וֹשׁ אָ֑נִי וְלֹ֤א תְטַמְּאוּ֙ אֶת־נַפְשֹׁ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם בְּכָל־הַשֶּׁ֖רֶץ הָרֹמֵ֥שׂ עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃

‎45 ‏כִּ֣י׀ אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֗ה הַֽמַּעֲלֶ֤ה אֶתְכֶם֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם לִהְיֹ֥ת לָכֶ֖ם לֵאלֹהִ֑ים וִהְיִיתֶ֣ם קְדֹשִׁ֔ים כִּ֥י קָד֖וֹשׁ אָֽנִי׃

‎46 ‏זֹ֣את תּוֹרַ֤ת הַבְּהֵמָה֙ וְהָע֔וֹף וְכֹל֙ נֶ֣פֶשׁ הַֽחַיָּ֔ה הָרֹמֶ֖שֶׂת בַּמָּ֑יִם וּלְכָל־נֶ֖פֶשׁ הַשֹּׁרֶ֥צֶת עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃

‎47 ‏לְהַבְדִּ֕יל בֵּ֥ין הַטָּמֵ֖א וּבֵ֣ין הַטָּהֹ֑ר וּבֵ֤ין הַֽחַיָּה֙ הַֽנֶּאֱכֶ֔לֶת וּבֵין֙ הַֽחַיָּ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר לֹ֥א תֵאָכֵֽל׃ פ

1 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen et Aaron, dicens:

2 Dicite filiis Israël: Hæc sunt animalia quæ comedere debetis de cunctis animantibus terræ:

3 omne quod habet divisam ungulam, et ruminat in pecoribus, comedetis.

4 Quidquid autem ruminat quidem, et habet ungulam, sed non dividit eam, sicut camelus et cetera, non comedetis illud, et inter immunda reputabitis.

5 Chœrogryllus qui ruminat, ungulamque non dividit, immundus est.

6 Lepus quoque: nam et ipse ruminat, sed ungulam non dividit.

7 Et sus: qui cum ungulam dividat, non ruminat.

8 Horum carnibus non vescemini, nec cadavera contingetis, quia immunda sunt vobis.

9 Hæc sunt quæ gignuntur in aquis, et vesci licitum est: omne quod habet pinnulas et squamas, tam in mari quam in fluminibus et stagnis, comedetis.

10 Quidquid autem pinnulas et squamas non habet, eorum quæ in aquis moventur et vivunt, abominabile vobis,

11 execrandumque erit: carnes eorum non comedetis, et morticina vitabitis.

12 Cuncta quæ non habent pinnulas et squamas in aquis, polluta erunt.

13 Hæc sunt quæ de avibus comedere non debetis, et vitanda sunt vobis: aquilam, et gryphem, et haliæetum,

14 et milvum ac vulturem juxta genus suum,

15 et omne corvini generis in similitudinem suam,

16 struthionem, et noctuam, et larum, et accipitrem juxta genus suum:

17 bubonem, et mergulum, et ibin,

18 et cygnum, et onocrotalum, et porphyrionem,

19 herodionem, et charadrion juxta genus suum, upupam quoque, et vespertilionem.

20 Omne de volucribus quod graditur super quatuor pedes, abominabile erit vobis.

21 Quidquid autem ambulat quidem super quatuor pedes, sed habet longiora retro crura, per quæ salit super terram,

22 comedere debetis, ut est bruchus in genere suo, et attacus atque ophiomachus, ac locusta, singula juxta genus suum.

23 Quidquid autem ex volucribus quatuor tantum habet pedes, execrabile erit vobis:

24 et quicumque morticina eorum tetigerit, polluetur, et erit immundus usque ad vesperum:

25 et si necesse fuerit ut portet quippiam horum mortuum, lavabit vestimenta sua, et immundus erit usque ad occasum solis.

26 Omne animal quod habet quidem ungulam, sed non dividit eam, nec ruminat, immundum erit: et qui tetigerit illud, contaminabitur.

27 Quod ambulat super manus ex cunctis animantibus, quæ incedunt quadrupedia, immundum erit: qui tetigerit morticina eorum, polluetur usque ad vesperum.

28 Et qui portaverit hujuscemodi cadavera, lavabit vestimenta sua, et immundus erit usque ad vesperum: quia omnia hæc immunda sunt vobis.

29 Hæc quoque inter polluta reputabuntur de his quæ moventur in terra, mustela et mus et crocodilus, singula juxta genus suum,

30 mygale, et chamæleon, et stellio, et lacerta, et talpa.

31 Omnia hæc immunda sunt. Qui tetigerit morticina eorum, immundus erit usque ad vesperum:

32 et super quod ceciderit quidquam de morticinis eorum, polluetur, tam vas ligneum et vestimentum, quam pelles et cilicia: et in quocumque fit opus, tingentur aqua, et polluta erunt usque ad vesperum, et sic postea mundabuntur.

33 Vas autem fictile, in quod horum quidquam intro cecidit, polluetur, et idcirco frangendum est.

34 Omnis cibus, quem comedetis, si fusa fuerit super eum aqua, immundus erit: et omne liquens quod bibitur de universo vase, immundum erit.

35 Et quidquid de morticinis hujuscemodi ceciderit super illud, immundum erit: sive clibani, sive chytropodes, destruentur, et immundi erunt.

36 Fontes vero et cisternæ, et omnis aquarum congregatio munda erit. Qui morticinum eorum tetigerit, polluetur.

37 Si ceciderit super sementem, non polluet eam.

38 Si autem quispiam aqua sementem perfuderit, et postea morticinis tacta fuerit, illico polluetur.

39 Si mortuum fuerit animal, quod licet vobis comedere, qui cadaver ejus tetigerit, immundus erit usque ad vesperum:

40 et qui comederit ex eo quippiam, sive portaverit, lavabit vestimenta sua, et immundus erit usque ad vesperum.

41 Omne quod reptat super terram, abominabile erit, nec assumetur in cibum.

42 Quidquid super pectus quadrupes graditur, et multos habet pedes, sive per humum trahitur, non comedetis, quia abominabile est.

43 Nolite contaminare animas vestras, nec tangatis quidquam eorum, ne immundi sitis.

44 Ego enim sum Dominus Deus vester: sancti estote, quia ego sanctus sum. Ne polluatis animas vestras in omni reptili quod movetur super terram.

45 Ego enim sum Dominus, qui eduxi vos de terra Ægypti, ut essem vobis in Deum. Sancti eritis, quia ego sanctus sum.

46 Ista est lex animantium ac volucrum, et omnis animæ viventis, quæ movetur in aqua, et reptat in terra,

47 ut differentias noveritis mundi et immundi, et sciatis quid comedere et quid respuere debeatis.
